The River House
About this home
Our place is a bright, single-level home tucked among the pines, with an open living-dining-kitchen, a cozy fireplace, and a big back deck made for long dinners under the trees. It's our escape to the foothills, but it sits empty more than it should, and we'd much rather see friends and family enjoying it. Easy, comfortable, and a short drive from the river and historic downtown: bring your people and make yourselves at home.

Getting there
About an hour up into the foothills from Sacramento, with a driveway and plenty of parking. The closest airports are Sacramento (SMF), around an hour away, and Reno (RNO), about ninety minutes.
Where to eat
The village has a wonderful bakery, a farm-to-table bistro, and a local market on Wednesday evenings in summer. Our favorites and a few local secrets are listed for guests.
Things to do
Hiking trails right out the back door, a swimming hole fifteen minutes away, antiquing in town, and easy day trips to wineries and orchards.
Why we love it
Coffee on the back deck as the morning sun comes through the pines, lazy afternoons by the river, and evenings that stretch long past sunset. It's our happy place, and we love sharing it.
